On a rainy day, public prosecutor Mizukami picked up a man who looked like a stray dog. He doesn’t know anything about the man. The only thing he has come to know more is his body…
After listening to the CM and sample tracks of this drama, I was really looking forward to listen to the whole CD. Tsuboi-san’s voice is so appealing to me. It’s said that this is his first time for a uke role. Although I’m not familiar with his other works, I’d say he has done a wonderful job to voice the queenlike uke Mizukami in this drama.
Generally I’ve always been fond of stories involve law enforcement, such as prosecutor, special police and security guard etc. So when I saw the summary of the story, plus Chiharu Nara’s illustration, I was expecting something more dark and angst. But surprisingly the story is kind of sweet and the plot is also predictable😄. There are a couple places that I’m questioning in the storyline, but I don’t consider it a flaw since it could very well be that it’s nearly impossible for a drama CD to include all the details which are covered in the original novel.
The drama starts out with the encounter of district attorney Mizukami and a mysterious man Tetsuya. Mizukami saw a young man standing in the rain, soaking wet. While he’s looking at him, he was almost hit by a car. The young man pulled him aside and saved him. Out of gratitude, he invited the young man to his home to get some dry cloths. Well, now you probably could guess what happened after they went to Mizukami’s place…~_^…he fed the young man, gave him a place to stay and of course… they had steamy hot sex. LOL Here comes my first question, is he too dumb or too confident? For a district attorney to pickup some stranger that he knows nothing about and take to his own home, you’d think it’s quite unusual. But moreover, in the next morning when Tetsuya asked Mizukami for the spare key of the house, he just simply said “it’s in the draw over there”…o_O…I wonder if he has any self-awareness that he might be on the hate list of many people whom he sent to jail in the past? LOL
In truth, Mizukami is very confident and determined in his work, but he’s tormented by his lack of self-assurance in his relationship with Tetsuya. They have kept physical relationship for few months and Mizukami’s feeling for Tetsuya is growing. But Tetsuya has kept his identity a secret from Mizukami and Mizukami keeps thinking that Tetsuya comes to his place everyday only for sex, nothing more.
When he’s puzzled whether it’s love or something else, his ex-lover, an elite prosecutor Kouda came into the picture. Mizukami and Kouda had good relationship before, but when Kouda decided to get married, Mizukami broke up with him. Now Kouda is divorced and he told Mizukami that he still loves him and asked for another chance with him. Trying to sort out his own feelings, he went out on a date with Kouda, but it didn’t end up anywhere because when he saw Tetsuya’s picture on the poster and found out he’s a popular model, all he could think of was Tetsuya.
One day Mizukami was approached by a man from Tetsuya’s modeling agency. He claimed that Tetsuya is a new rising star with bright future and his relationship with Mizukami will only hurt his future. He asked Mizukami to break up with Tetsuya. Mizukami knew this would happen the moment he discovered Tetsuya’s identity, so he’s well prepare for it. He calmly signed the written oath and also took the money for exchange. When Tetsuya came to his place again, he used Kouda as an excuse and broke up with Tetsuya. But after Tetsuya left, he broke down into tears and cried uncontrollably. T-T
Mizukami started to date Kouda again hoping to forget about Tetsuya and move on with his life. He even went as far as asking Kouda to spend a night in the hotel, but only to find out that he’s already deeply in love with Tetsuya. I really despise the fact Kouda betrayed Mizukami and run off to get married in the past, but I have to say he’s quite a gentleman at this point. He didn’t take advantage of Mizukami when he’s vulnerable. Instead, he comforted him when he’s crying and talked with him as a friend. Poor Mizukami…I don’t even remember how many times he’s been crying for Tetsuya. I wouldn’t say it’s girlish, although it does seem to be that way LOL. It’s obvious that only the person he truly loves can make him cry like that.
When Mizukami went back home, he was assaulted and beaten by a man whom he prosecuted before. Tetsuya happened to stop by and he broke in through the window and saved Mizukami. After the incident, Tetsuya confessed to Mizukami that he had met Mizukami before. When he was falsely accused of assaulting a professor, Mizukami encouraged him to stand up for himself and helped him find the witness to prove his innocent. He admired Mizukami and also fell in love with him at that time, so he decided to become a prosecutor just like Mizukami. He’s actually going to law school right now. Modeling is only his side job to earn some quick money.😄 After many twists and turns, the two love birds finally come to being truthful to each other’s feelings. But here comes my another question…shouldn’t that be Tetsuya’s attorney’s job to help him claiming his innocent, not his prosecutor’s? >.>
Sorry it may have sounded like I’m nickpicking, but honestly I really like the story and enjoy the drama CD very much, especially Tsuboi-san’s performance. He has this elegant voice with bit coldness in it, which is well suited for a queen uke like Mizukami, who’s strong willed but timid at times when it comes to love. But on the other hand, he could also be aggressively seductive, even though he’s not aware of it himself LOL. I love the last scene when he tried to get Tetsuya study hard to pass the bar exam, he said something like “You have such a nice posture, suits will fit you perfectly. If I’m having sex with a wild type like you, a real prosecutor with a badge, how would I react, what would I become to, don’t you want to know?” Ahhhh!!! It’s a killer for the loyal dog Tetsuya who has loved him wholeheartedly. LOL You could imagine the result… Tetsuya passed bar.😄
Miyake-san’s Tetsuya is also well performed. He seems to be known as the wild type seme ever since his great work in ZE. I like him more and more now😄. Tetsuya is so cute, especially when Mizukami said he looked like the Doberman from his neighbor, Tetsuya barked at Mizukami. His barking is so cute ^o^…but why it doesn’t sound like “woof” but like “waa”…^^;;;
The name of the title “Dog of Lust” has pretty much ensured there will be some hot H scenes. And sure enough, there’re quite few steamy hot ones. Tsuboi-san’s karami is quite erotic but somehow I feel like the H scene was rushed a little bit and Tsuboi’s karami voice seems a bit overly done. Well, this is his first uke role and there’s always room for improvement. ^_^ I’m not sure how he sounded like when he played seme, but I hope he will take more of queen uke role like in this drama. Oh, I have to mention he is a really good looking man as well. I almost want to say he’s the perfect type for a uke role. (Forgive me Tsuboi-san)😛
Tsuboi Tomohiro is the 3rd from left in the 1st row.
Over all it’s very good drama. It’s well preformed and BMG is done nicely too. It’s a good pick in July drama list. ^^
