Comment:

A younger inexperienced seme x A mature sophisticated uke

I had high expectation for this drama. But sometimes they say high expectations can only lead to disappointment. And this CD has proven to be the case.

I like Nitta-sensei’s art work. I’ve been a long time fan of Morikawa-sama, and just recently found my new love Hamada-san. With this combination, it would be hard to not have high expectation, don’t you think?

Okay, I admit that I’m biased. This drama CD is based on 1st volume of Nitta-sensei’s ongoing manga series Koushi Kakka. When I read the manga, I started to think if this is to be made into drama CD, the cast has to be Miki and Morikawa, who were the cast in Nitta’s another manga adopted drama series Haru wo Daiteita (春を抱いていた). Their performance was outstanding in Haru series and the drama series (7+ CDs) has been one of my favorites.

Although the background of two series is different, the characteristics of the two main characters are similar. Both have a younger seme who is warm, genuine, and sometimes a bit naive and hotheaded, and an older uke who is cool, calm and more mature. (If you’re not into this kind of pairing, you probably should skip it all together. ~_o) I know I shouldn’t have compared and I felt bad for Hamada-san. I’m not asking to surpass the golden pair Miki x Mori (can I say that? LOL), but I was hoping as least Hamada can be on par with Miki.

Morikawa-san’s performance is as good as usual. It really shows his ability as an experienced voice actor. His low voice is very sexy and seductive. It’s kind of funny to say this but it made it more convincing the way Tomohiro falls for Koshi (even though Tomohiro is the seme). If, and only if Hamada-san can keep up with him, they would be another golden pair. *sigh*

I have to give Hamada-san some credits because I still like him. I think he’s handling it well when he’s interacting with other people in the drama. But when he’s interacting with Morikawa, there’s something missing. I just couldn’t find Tomohiro in him. I wonder if it’s because this is the first time he pairs with Mori? LOL

Despite how I feel in this drama, I still love you, Hamada-san. Keep up the good work in Saudaji part 2 and Mahiru no Tsuki 3 (if they’re going to have 3.) I’m sure I won’t be disappointed. ^_^
